The Chamber staff coordinates events throughout the year for our membership to come together to network, learn about new Chamber programs and attend educational business workshops that strengthen and develop small businesses.
Annual Membership Awards Dinner
The Annual Membership Awards Dinner is the Chamber’s largest and most anticipated event of the year, attracting nearly 200 business owners and decision makers, community and civic leaders, and the regional news media. The Annual Meeting features a distinguished keynote speaker, the accomplishments of the Chamber during the previous year, and the passing of the gavel from the outgoing president to incoming president. The Chamber also presents its most prestigious recognitions in a variety of categories to recognize the Chamber members that our membership nominates and selects through its votes.
The Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce routinely sponsors candidate forums prior to local, state and national elections. Candidates in each race are invited to attend the forums where they are presented questions by a panel of local business representatives. The Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Forums are regarded as the primary events during election seasons to hear from candidates seeking office.
National Tourism Week Luncheon
The annual National Tourism Week Luncheon brings together Chamber members in the hospitality industry where they are updated on the latest statistics and trends related to the tourism industry. The luncheons feature a workshop/learning component for the attendees centered around customer service and hospitality. The luncheon event is a popular event and sells out quickly each year.
