On Wednesday, August 7th, the Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce had the privilege of hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for Treasures in the Pines, celebrating their triumphant reopening at their brand-new location at 209 Locust Avenue in downtown Spruce Pine.
This special event marked a powerful moment of resilience and community strength—314 days after Hurricane Helene devastated the business’s former location.
Guests, community members, local leaders, and fellow business owners gathered to celebrate not just a reopening, but a rebirth. Treasures in the Pines has long been a beloved part of our downtown district, offering unique finds and warm hospitality. The destruction caused by Hurricane Helene in 2024 could have ended their story—but instead, it became a chapter of perseverance, grit, and community support.
Attendees enjoyed refreshments, tours of the beautifully redesigned space, and the inspiring spirit of a business determined to thrive again.
The Chamber is honored to support and celebrate the reopening of Treasures in the Pines. Their comeback is a symbol of what makes Mitchell County special—neighbors helping neighbors, communities rebuilding together, and businesses that stand the test of time.
We invite you to stop by and show your support at their new location at 209 Locust Avenue. Welcome back, Treasures in the Pines—we’re so glad you’re home.
